Reininger Winery was established in 1997 by Chuck and Tracy Reininger as the 10th bonded Winery in Walla Walla. As 1997 being our first vintage, we released a Cabernet, Merlot and Cabernet Franc sourcing only, and focusing on, the fabulous fruit from the Walla Walla Valley. These classy, elegant and handcrafted wines are a reflection of the land, and the love for the place we call home, the Walla Walla Valley. In 2002, Chuck’s brother’s-in-law, Jay and Kelly Tucker approached Chuck with the idea of starting a winery of their own, with Chuck stepping in as the winemaker. The Tucker’s sold the family farmland near Helix, Oregon, to help finance the new adventure, and Helix by Reininger was born. Instead of breaking off and becoming a separate winery, it was decided that the Tuckers and the Reiningers would join forces, and Helix would become the Columbia Valley label under Reininger Winery. In 2003, the families purchased a site six miles west of Walla Walla, containing dilapidated potato sheds nestled amongst golden wheat fields, and transformed the site into a beautiful, unique winery. Today, Reininger Winery is in full-force, producing close to 10,000 cases a year, in as many as 12 different varietals. Our tasting room is open from 10-6 daily at 5858 W. Highway 12, in beautiful Walla Walla, Washington.
